Homeland Security Grants Available in 2008
July 8, 2008
In 2008, the Department of Homeland Security has released nearly $3
billion for grants to protect America from terroristic activities.
As you consider a specialty
vehicle, think about its use for:
- Law enforcement terrorism prevention. $1.69 billion is allocated for the
Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), which includes law enforcement's role in
terrorism prevention.
- Infrastructure Protection. $852.4 million is allocated for infrastructure
protection, including port security.
- Border Protection, as part of Operation Stonegarden. $60 million is
allocated for border security improvement.
